Application for compensation for damage

The compensation terms of Itella are based on the Postal Services Act, Road Transport Agreement Act, agreements of the Universal Postal Union, and on delivery terms.

Compensation for damages requires that the damage has been verified by Itella in some manner, including

– a damage report in cases of damage
– result of a shipment inquiry in lost item cases
– tracking data from the systems regarding cases of delays.

To file an application for damage compensation:

  • Fill in and send an electronic application for damage compensation. If you want to print out the application, use the browser’s Print function before you click ‘Send’.

Send appendices (such as a damage report, copies of invoices or other similar information) by fax to +358 20 451 5467 or a PDF file to asiakaspalvelu@posti.fi. Include your contact information and a mention of the application for damage compensation in the email message.

  • Application forms are also available at postal outlets, and you can return the form and appendices to your nearest postal outlet.
