Delivery interruption
A delivery interruption is the easiest way to ensure that your mail will safely reach you during your summer holiday, for example. The mail will be stored at the post office during the interruption, and you can collect the mail at your Posti Store or sales outlet.
A delivery interruption is an affordable means of protecting your home from burglary and vandalism when you are away for a longer period of time: your overflowing mailbox will not lure any uninvited guests.
Service description
By ordering a delivery interruption, you can temporarily cancel your mail. You must collect the mail at a Posti service outlet after the service has been cancelled. The service is subject to a charge and available for a minimum of one week and a maximum of two months. The mail can be collected at a post office on the second day after the service has ended. If you want to collect the mail before the end of the service period, you must make an agreement with the post office or sales outlet in question. When the delivery interruption is over, the mail will be normally delivered to the regular address
You can order the service online, by phone, or using a form that you can pick up at a Posti service outlet and mail to us. A delivery interruption ordered online or by phone will enter into force two working days after the order was placed, and a delivery interruption ordered using the form will enter into force at the latest four working days after the order was placed.
Ordering the service
The most affordable way to order a delivery interruption is placing an order online. You can place a service order in the Address Maintenance Service, in which case you will have to identify yourself when logging in. You can log into the service using your online bank ID, a Posti user ID, or a citizen ID, such as an identity card with a chip.
You can also order the service using a form available at Posti stores and service outlets. You can return the form using the return envelope provided.
You can order a delivery interruption over the phone by calling 0203 456 456.
Pricing
The most affordable way of protecting your home and mail for a week is ordering the service online. The online order price is EUR 8,80. All our services are more affordable when ordered online. For example, you can save more than 30% in the case of a one-week delivery interruption by ordering the service via our online service.
If you order the service online, you can pay for the service using most online banks. You can also pay the service with an invoice. Services ordered by phone or using the form are always paid with an invoice. When paying with an invoice, please make sure that the invoice will not be sent during a delivery interruption.
