Collections

The Post Museum’s collections, forming the core of the museumen compass approximately 6000 artefacts. The collections primarily include objects related to post offices, sorting, postal delivery and transports, while the Museum’s philatelic collections comprise all Finnish postal stationery since 1845 and stamps since 1856, as well as material related to their production. The Picture Archive features approximately 30,000 photographs, 350,000 negatives and slides, 2,100 posters, 28,000 postcards and 1,500 video films. The book collection comprises 27,000 volumes, available on loan for anyone.

 The collections will be shut from 5th July until 1st August 2010.
